Q: Do your teachers have legal experience?
A: All teachers are currently licensed U.S.A. attorneys with experience in the practice of law as well as the art of teaching.


Q:Is your course focused on the new Cambridge University International Legal English Certificate exam?
A: Yes. The TOLES test for legal English is outdated.

Q: What is ILEC?
A: The International Legal English Certificate course is a high-level course of study intended for students whose first language is not English, but who require communication training for the international legal environment. ILEC is a Cambridge ESOL examination and this course will help the student prepare for the exam which is given in May and November at authorized Cambridge ESOL test centers. The test is recognized by the European Company Lawyers Association, the European Law Students Association, and other leading associations.

Q:Do I need to be a lawyer in order to take your course?
A: No. This course is also for law students, judges, legal secretaries, court clerks, and business people that want to expand their understanding of legal English. Not all students may wish to take the Cambridge exam, however, all are encouraged to try.

Q: Do I receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the course from Nordic Law Tours?
A: Yes, and the students are encouraged to take the Cambridge exam and receive their ILEC Certificate upon its successful completion.

Q: After the course is finished, is there any follow-up assistance provided?
A: Yes. Online assistance will be provided for 90 days after the course ends.

Q: Do you provide materials for the course?
A: Yes. The Cambridge University book, entitled International Legal English, is included in the price for the course. Also, you will receive study flash cards and a compendium of specially prepared materials.

Q: Is your course based on USA law, UK law or Swedish law?

A: In order to help the students learn and understand the language of legal English, the laws from these 3 countries will be used to teach the terminology. However, this is not a course on the law of any   specific country.

Q : Is there any homework?
A: Yes, but it is optional. This is an intensive course. It is a serious course. The more effort the students put into it, the more benefit they will get out of it.

Q: Where will the classes be held?
A: The courses are given at the Hyatt Century Plaza Hotel which is 5 minutes from Beverly Hills.

Q: What should my level of English proficiency be for this course?
A: Students need a good foundation in English, and the placement test    will provide a good indication of whether this course is suitable for you. A link for the placement test is located on the home page of the website. The ILEC Exam is set at CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Modern Languages) levels B2-C1.

Q: Is there a formal association between Nordic Law Tours, Cambridge University and EF Corporate Language Training?
A: Nordic Law Tours is independent and does not have a formal partnership arrangement with either Cambridge University or EF.
